In the photo above, John H. Maine is seen presenting Ms. Kristy Churchill her plaque showing that she has completed her Internship with JHM Accounting & Tax Services. Not seen in the photo, is the check for $ 1,000 that Ms. Churchill earned for participation in the program. Ms. Churchill will attend Monmouth University in the fall where she plans to make accounting her major.  Her long-term plan is to become a CPA.

I’ve a senior starting in January of next year. We’re currently looking to replace Ms. Churchill with a junior.

This learning experience is approved by the New Jersey Department of Education and the participants receive 5 credits towards graduation. If anyone is interested, please call Ms. Cinotti at (973) 770-8863,  Mr. Maine started the program at Hopatcong High School three  years ago with the support of Dr. Wayne Threlkeld (Supt), Gina Conotti  (Guidance) and William Roca (Administration). The program is open to any junior who has an interest in Accounting & Taxes and plans to pursue a degree in Accounting.  The students assist Mr. Maine in the preparation of tax returns.

The students spend six to eight hours on weekends at Mr. Maine’s office in his home.
